Professional tennis teachers and authors like Vic Braden, Timothy Gallwey, Oscar Wegner and David Breslow have long documented the importance of the mental side of tennis for the touring pro as well as for the recreational player. Spearheaded by USPTA professional Jeff Richards, the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center organized a lecture event titled Lunch with Dr. Allen Fox on Saturday, June 11. Starting at 11:30 am the event included on-court clinics and drills designed to create awareness of the mental aspects of the game, and a classroom lecture by Dr. Fox after lunch at the clubhouse.
The tennis club side of the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center is a 15 court facility run by the Top Seed, a management company and Tennis Academy with 3 major club clients: Calabasas, The Paseo Club, and the tennis courts of North Ranch Country Club. Jeff Richards is a tennis professional certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and responsible for tennis events at Calabasas.
