How do you know winter has arrived in Santa Monica?… Once a year, Downtown Santa Monica brings a little winter to the beach community and transforms the corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue into ICE at Santa Monica. ICE is one of the premier outdoor ice skating rinks in California. Now in its fourth year, the 8,000 square ft. rink by the beach offers residents and visitors a little taste of winter without the bite. A great location for holiday play, ICE at Santa Monica is the perfect place to hang out with friends, family, and loved ones, throw a party in a private event cabana, enjoy a first date, or sign up for skate lessons. Join the fun and visit Downtown Santa Monica this season to experience ICE.

A new twist on on the ICE this year will be colorful flowers painted under the ice. The art project is being coordinated by artist Ed Massey, co-founder of Portraits of Hope, who was also responsible for the floral lifeguard towers that adorned West Side beaches over the summer.

Skate rentals are only $10 and if you bring your own skates it is free admission. Plus you can skate as long as you like. There is nothing like skating outside with palm trees overhead and the fresh smell of ocean air. This year ICE at Santa Monica will be open until February 15th as it has become a very popular way to enjoy the holidays for West-siders and visitors alike.

Buyers, when you go to open houses please be upfront with the agents that you are represented by a buyers’ agent.
