Festival of Lights at the Calabasas Commons
The Festival of Lights was celebrated at the Calabasas Commons to commemorate the Jewish holiday that celebrated religious freedom. The Hanukkah celebration drew hundreds of Calabasas locals to the Calabasas Commons on Tuesday night for the lighting of the menorah led by the Calabasas Shul.
Now in its 15th year, this is the biggest event the synagogue holds for the Calabasas community which typically draws 1,500 people. The event also honors Calabasas and West Valley residents who are currently in or just completing service in the Israeli Armed Forces.
Rabi Vann expressed gratitude to synagogue volunteers of the Commons at Calabasas by stating, “a special thanks to the City of Calabasas and its wonderful mix of people who care deeply about their community and have created a beautiful place to live.”
This is a Calabasas tradition that seems to gain strength every year.
